Kinda puts the new 2670 in a different perspective, doesn't it? The crafstmanship is stunning, and not just the inlay, either. Given the extensiveness and level of detail of the inlay, I'm really not surprised at the price. It's a very time-intensive craft. That's a little less than $2375.00. I don't know if that includes a case...probably have to add some for shipping. Wish I knew how to read Japanese. At the moment custom made instruments are very popular overhere in Europe , so about the price its the average you pay for a custom made and if you would spend why not with the orginal Ibanez makers. The only set back is that Japan is far and its a normal procedure the watch the work in progress. Best thing to do would be to fly overthere choose the proper materials, the design, etc etc and pray that it comes out the way you planned. Being 100% satisfied with the end result is always the biggest challenge. I've see through the years many people selling there custom made instruments. So "Modding" isn't a bad idea. These luthiers are just everywhere, high quality, good prices, top woods, lots of options. The good thing is our Ibanez Collections will become more and more worth. Will Ibanez present a re-issue for 2008 ? I visited him at his shop last year and held some of his guitars (never had enough guts to play one). They are stunning works of art. Totally custom. He'll do anything you want. He reproduced a series of leg tattoos on the fretboard of a guitar for one client. I even met the client and saw the guitar!
