It says Ibanez Pro Line Series on the headstock but there is no model name anywhere.

Made in 1986 with a Strat style body. It has a metalic-grey finish. One humbucker and two single coils. The humbucker can be split into single coil with a push of the tone pot. There is a five way selector switch and a series of buttons that can override the switch. This is a pretty odd feature that I've never seen on an Ibanez.

The bolt-on neck is tiny and plays great. 22 jumbo frets with ebony fretboard. Double locking tremelo "liscensed under Floyd Rose".

I've never seen another of these. Does anyone have any information???

One more thing. It was bought new back in '86 for around $450. At the time it seemed like a great guitar. After several Fender Strats, a Jackson Soloist, a Gibson SG, and a homemade super-strat, playing this guitar feels like coming home. Maybe it's because because I logged so many hours leaning to play on the thing, but I still feel this is a great guitar. Anybody else out there love these things?

I just wish it didn't take so damn long to change the freakin' strings. Argh!!!!!!

What you have is the PL1770 with the SP(silver pearl) finish,1 piece oil finished neck and the pick up preset system. The other model with this system is the PL2550,the same as yours except it's a neck thru design and no pickguard.Incase your wondering the pick ups are 2 super 7F's for neck and middle and a IBZ triple magnet for the bridge.

I've got the black version of the PL1770, The model # is on a small sticker on the back of the headstock. I'm surprised it hasn't fallen off after all these years. I got mine new in 1986, it's still in real good shape. I've painted the pick guard a few times to get a different look, new it was black on black.

I'd like to get a black pearloid for it, anyone know of a good place to get a replacement?
