I was hoping someone could shed some light on early Blazers for me.
What was custom made about these around '81.
What sort of tonewoods are used in the bodies.
How do they stack up against the strats of the periods.

The '70 & '71 catalogs show the guitar in dark mahogany. (these appear to be the same photos????) The '73 catalog shows the 2383 in white and looks exactly like the one on ebay (sans the Ibanez logo on the headstock and Custom on the truss rod cover).

A weirdness of the catalogs is seen on this page; the 2383 is described as a "built-in neck", not detachable...but that's NOT what the picture shows! Anyway, it looks like this guitar could be as early as '73.

As to ebay seller's claim of being "all original", take a close look at the tuner on the low-e string. Still, it's a very nice specimen.
