i own a 540r, H-S-S config. right? ibanez usa PU?
i hate to say that not much is known about these. from my observations they were only made from bass wood but i have read here that some were made from mohagany. the body is the same as the JS but the necks are a bit different.

I own one they retailed at about 1000 dollars, they are basically js models- same body style as the js- mine has a bensalem PA neck plate and an f serial number so i assume its a 1990 radius hhbk means humbucker humbucker black denoting pickup setup and color obviously, the bensalem neck plate indicates it was assembled in pennsylvania but the f on the serial number indicates their japanese factory unsure about that one though. the number after the f in the serial number indicates the year from 86 to 97, in 1997 the first two numbers indicated the year so f97 means made in japan in 1997 the other numbers indicate the number of the run. hope this helps. I found this stuff out on the ibanez rules website. ps i love my 540RHHBK it is one kick guitar. I just recently found out about this site and I have owned this guitar for 11 years
