Is the RoadStar II from the late 80s a good beginner guitar?

Thanks,

They're nice guitars (I have one) but if it has a double locking bridge (not all do) I would think twice. We have a cool blue one with 3 single coils and a strat style bridge at our shop. We just sold one with 2 humbuckers and a double locking system.

Mrs. Wolftone:

What's a double-locking bridge?

Thanks,

John--A Floyd-type bridge, the strings lock at the bridge and the nut. Not fun for beginners.

Oh, I guess I was thinking that the bridge itself had a double-locking action.

You're right about this bridge not being fun for beginners, tho.

The Roadstar I'm thinking about has a plain old fender style trem. Are they stable, as in stay in tune?

It's also a lefty, that's mainly why I'm interested in it.
