I'm wondering if anyone has any info they can give me on this. It's metallic gray, has a shark tooth fretboard, and Dimarzio pickups. I do know that it was one of the first Prolines sent out as a test market guitar. I've been told there where about thirty of these made, if they differ from the regular production models I don't know. Original price was about $800.00. I haven't seen another one of these around and I was wondering what it might be going for, etc. Any kind of info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, mikepet@msn.com   Ionianuser Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    Having sold Ibanez before, and playing only Ibanez now, my best solution to your problem is to take your guitar to an authorized dealer. They should be able to tell you about your guitar. (possibly buy identifing things like body shape, # of frets, ect.) Another option is to remove the neck, and look at the model # that should be stamped on it. This will give you at least a ballpark bluebook value. I don't know about the limited production, but I bought a PL1770 back in 86, and the 2770 was basicaly the same guitar but with the shark tooth inlays and no pickguard. Hope I could help. I was here looking for more info on my guitar, so good luck...   Michael Yancer Posted on Friday, April 27, 2001 - 11:54 pm:    I just pick up an Ibanez Pro line myself and need some info on where to get some replacement parts and maybe a pic of it.I believe from what I have read that it was made 6/1985.Serial # is F850470...on the back of the head stock is..... PR 1550.It was made in Japan...missing I think is a lock nut or bar on the head stock.Any info would be of great help.   Guitardan777 (Guitardan777) Posted on Friday, January 10, 2003 - 9:18 am:    I have a PL 1770 bought in in 1986. It has been a great all around guitar. However I've always had problems with string breakage, maybe its the way I play or the heavy picks I use. I bought a Carvin Bolt ~ 3 years ago with a fixed bridge to accomidate different tunings I also started occasionally breaking strings on it too. Mainly the B and hi E. In my quest for a solution I found out about Graph Tech replacement saddles. And they really work. My strings last longer and I haven't broken any more strings. I recently was thinking about selling the PL 1770 cause I just don't play it as much anymore and it needs alittle TLC. I though about replacing the Edge trem with a Wilkinson because you can get the Graph Tech saddles for it. But I would have to replace the nut and get some locking tuners, approximately a $200.00 up grade. Then I just got word from Graph Tech that in March 03 they are comming out with a Floyd compatible saddle replacement. Does anyone out there know if the Edge trem uses the same saddles as the Floyd? If so, I think its worth waitng. And then I will definatly get more use out of the old beauty, cause she really is a keeper. Dan
