EX series problem

Author Message   Jonathan Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    i have this ex series guitar that keeps going out of tune every time i yank the bar. im guessing its the tuners or maybe the bridge(lo trs). anybody here have an advise for this matter?   GuitarGuy Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    how old is it? i had the same problem with my S540 the studs were too old as my guitar was about 7 years old and the studs were still the originals. i know the studs on the guitars with the lo trs are diffeent but try getting new sdtuds....or it coupld possibly a lose locking nut.....check that but for further setup goto www.jemsite.com and look at the tech section.....about tuning a guitar...that helped me alot GuitarGuy   jonathan Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    i've got no idea how old is it ..yeah i think ur right dude it could be the studs cause the lower stud was a bit slanted..so everytime i yank the bar the bridge makes this tiny clicking sound ..i thought it wasnt a big deal ...damn im really having bad experiences with these lo trs bridges ...im really planning to buy and rg ....do these guitars stay in tune?.....i really want my next guitar to be an ibanez ..hey guitarguy thanx for the site this could really help a lot   Scott Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    jonathan, Buy an RG with the Edge tremolo. Those are the best locking tremolo you can buy. Most higher end models come equiped with Edge's.   JohnS Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    Too many trems on Ibanezes over the years! Their current catalog lists: Lo Pro Edge, Edge, lo trs, lo trs II. To the uninitiated they all look the same. That's one thing that scares me off, because I know that a bad trem can make a good guitar a nightmare (at least, that's what Fender lovers say J.) Anybody care to give us tremolo-dolts a lesson on the differences/advantages? What's the difference between the 2?   GuitarGuy Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    well the difference between the two is that the edge bridge is like your regular floyd rose....but id say about 1,000,000 times better the actual bridge itself is a molded white metal and it is possibly the most stable floyd bridge available. the lo pro edge is a similar version it has a molded white metal chassis as well but this one is flat as in it doesnt have the same elevation as the edge.....it also has a small allen screw that goes into the back of the saddel ionstead of having a long one that passes through the bridge and goes into the back of the saddel if you have more questions about anything ask email me at philsteed@sympatico.ca i have diagrams of the edge and lo pro edge i can send you..if they way i explained it doesnt make sence...i have a habbit of confusing people GuitarGuy   Dale R Posted on Friday, October 08, 2004 - 11:04 am:    the low pro edge actually has a place to rest your palm without causing slight vabrato on the strings.
