The guitar is modified, (extra pickup & switch) and missing the back plate and string trees. So why is the bid over $400? Not being any great fan of later models I'm not in the market anyway but I certainly wouldn't be paying nearly a thousand of our bills for something that has been hacked about. Maybe the clue is in the use of the word rare - after all how many others have been modified in this way!! It's still a 22 fret, 25.5" scale, Basswood guitar. It's minimalist looks probably don't do the unique hardware/electronics justice. Unlike the Steve Lukather (RS1010SL) model, the Holdworth had it's own name and series number. The AH-10 had a single humbucker, and the AH-20 had a pair. The "special" features were; tone chamber under the pickguard, aluminum block PowerRocker, special "AH" pickup(s), and hard alloy frets. But it's still a Roadstar! If anybody wants a truly special Roadstar, there's an RS1500 up on eBay right now. The rectangular "sound hole" doesn't look "specially constructed" to me. It looks like a pretty efficient, "one-size fits all" routing system. The trem is listed as the Powerocker. The same was available on the RS135, 230, 240 & 320 (the low end of the RS series). No specs are given on the "special pickup system". My catalog only shows the 1 pup AH10. The ebony fretboard is a nice touch. Overall, it seems like a mid-level Roadstar. I'd really wonder how much input AH had on the design of this guitar. The RS1500 is nice. Those big pickup mounts aren't very sleek looking. But the neck-thru construction is very cool. What color is your's? Allan is seen playing his Ibanez AH-10 guitar along with the Synth-Axe guitar synthesizer controller. __________________ Looks like Alan did play the AH10. Not something to get excited about. I've got similar literature as well. However, I do remember seeing a reference to the Holdsworth PowerRocker having an "aluminum block". Be damned if I know what that's supposed to accomplish! The RS1500 was only available in the Brown Sunburst. Which, IMHO, is one of the more attractive bursts I've seen. I agree that the pickup mounts aren't very sexy, but the tone from the Super6 pickups more than offsets the visual drawbacks. I have finally gotten most of the Roadstars back together. I plan to take a family photo and post it for all to enjoy. The RS130, 12-string project is still unfinished, but all the others are finally playable again. Cheers Steve
