Differences of the lo-pro edge

Author Message   tony777 Posted on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 - 5:42 pm:    I was wondering if anyone had experienced some tuning problems with the cosmo black lo pro edge. I'm sure I read somewhere that it wasn't as good as the other types. I played a RG 550 LTD and compared to my guitars with black hardware, it wouldn't stay in tune that well.   Gitfiddle1 (Gitfiddle1) Posted on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 - 6:59 pm:    Is it a Lo-Pro Edge, or a Lo-TRSII? There is a difference. I'm not sure which one comes stock on a RG550. As for the tuning problem; Were the strings new? Was the nut locked down properly? Check the setup on the trem. The knife edges should be at 90degs to the pivot posts. If it's an older guitar (or has had heavy use) check to make sure the trem posts aren't loose/moving. (no i don't work for them...) Plus---- if you're playing the solo from Metallica's "Harvester of Sorrow" like 10 times in a row, or forgetting that a simple fretboard string bend works just as well as the old "grab & shake"-- you're just asking for problems.... Could be that your new strings are just "settling in" like a new baseball glove has to.
