I bought some time ago a RG 570, supposed to be from in the beginning of nineties. Serial number is F010851. Does the first 0 tell that it is made 1990? What else does the serial tell? The model?
I hope my guitar really is a 570, the "RG570" is on a small sticker behind the headstock. The guitar is metallic red and so is also the headstock.

Karkki,

I am no expert, but this certainly sounds like an RG570. I had a similar experience recently regarding whether my RG was a 570 or 470 (see thread titled "Need Help with Identification of my Ibanez").

The matching headstock may be a clue. I believe the matching headstock was only on the RG570. Also, what is the pickup lineup (V1/S1/V2 OR V7/S1/V8)? I believe the original RG570's came with V1/S1/V2. Another thing I have noticed is that the RG570's have 3 access panels on the back, while RG470's only have 2.

Not sure about the serial number, but it seems it would be either a 1990 or a 2000.

If you really need to know, you can send a detailed description and pictures of your guitar (back and front) to Ibanez and they will respond in a few weeks with the information. They were very helpful to me. The Ibanez address:

Ibanez Instrument Identification
Box 886
Bensalem, PA 19020

Yes, the serial number indicates Japan built, 1990 or 2000. 1990 will have a standard neck joint. 2000 will have the rounded "All Access Neck Joint"

Thank you very much, John & Steve. The year must be 1990. The pick ups are barely readable, but I can see V1 and V2. And on the back there are 3 panels: one for whammy bar springs, the other two behind the pick up switch and controls.
So I have a RG570 as the guy who traded it told me. Feels good!
