I've been having a Blazer from the beginning of the Eighties, bought second hand then. All information about this kind of a guitar is welcomed.
The body is lacquered (?) with something that makes the wood look dark. You can see from few scratches that it really is not dark. Metal parts are brass colored. Headstock says "Ibanez Blazer series Custom made". Serial number D810839.
What might have been the original price? How would you rate this guitar? Value? Like I said, any info is welcomed -also opinions.

Karkki,

I believe you have a BL50 from 1981. I got this from a quick trip over to JD's site. The hardtail and humbuckers pretty much nail it down. I used to have a BL500. Kinda wish I had kept it. Mine was the exact model pictured (blue).

Oh boy. A friend of mine just called from other town in Finland, and said there was a '81 Blazer (BL50?) for 140 euro in a local second hand store (pawnbroker?)! Super 70 pickups, I said go ahead, buy it for me! When he went back, the seller har rised the price up to 200e because this friend of mine had said it to be quite cheap. Well, I talked to the seller a while on the phone and nagged about old guitar with bad frets without a case, and bad selling tactics.. And suddenly he was ready to sell it for the 140e again.

My friend is now on the way back to home town, and I will get the guitar in a few hours, for 140e. :o) The pickups are almost worth that for me!
