I have an Ibanez S-series made around 1995. It is a deep translucent purple with woodgrain underneath. If not in bright light, you might mistake it for black. It has gold hardware (knobs, tremelo, pickups, tuners). The pickups are a double-single-double configuration. The serial number is F437296.

Any help to what specific S-series model this is would be greatly appreciated.

It would be even more helpful if you could give me an idea of what the value is. It is like-new.

P.S. - I paid $1000 for it when it was new. It probably was list price or close to it.

The serial number indicates a 1994 build date. The "F" makes it a Made In Japan model. Used "S" (Saber) models sell on eBay all the time. Price varies with model and condition. The range is roughly $300-$600.

What type (shape) of fretboard inlays does it have? It's probably an S540 of some variety. I don't have my catalogs handy, but I can take a look tonight.

Python, the exact model of your guitar is S540FMTP, FM= Flame Maple, TP= Transparent Purple, your guitar shold have oval shaped abalone fret markers and the words Custom Made in the neck at the 21st fret.This model was also available in 2 other colours, TT = Transparent Turqoise and TK= Transparent Black.These models were discontinued at the end of 1997.
