Desert Sun Yellow with matching headstock, original Edge trem, original neck joint w/neck plate. Serial # is F714594.

There are NO chips anywhere on the finish. The neck plate is tarnished two of the Edge's black saddles have been replaced with a couple that are a smokey chrome color. When I bought it last week, it had red Dimarzio Super Distortions at neck and bridge, and red vol and tone knobs. I've swapped out the PUs to a PAF Pro at the neck and a Evolution at the bridge (both black), and the stock black knobs.

Jared, I saw you posting and I just thought I would tell you I have found one myself for sale in a local pawnshop for $250. I put it on lay-a-way and I should have it out by the end of the month. All I really want to say is that these are totally awsome guitars. Hang on to the one you have, it will be worth it someday. Also when I get the axe I was going to put the same PU's you put in yours! It was probably made in 1997 in Japan...
got the same model made in 1996...very decent axe for the money.

Ah, but it CAN'T be a '97-- I have the 1997 Ibanez catalog, and the RG550 is shown w/ the all-access neck joint and the bubinga skunk stripe. It HAS to predate '97. With that serial #-- how can it be anything other than a '87?
