Unfortunately I don't have this guitar anymore. It was stolen.

I bought it in the mid 1980's as a used instrument, but it was fairly new, maybe a few years old at most.

It was electric, Strat shape with more rounded horns, active HB-HB pickups, rosewood fretboard, painted all white with a purple burst in the middle, AND very sweet sounding. The pickups were covered by a flat, black cover.

Anyone have any idea what model this might have been?

Dave

Dave:

Sounds like it could be a Roadstar. There's a picture of white/purple 1986 RG600WP (Wine Pearl) in the Miscellaneous section, in the thread entitled: Survey - What's in Your Collection?

It's over halfway down. Look for a message from Gitfiddle. He's since morphed into Mr. Roadstar.

Dave,

From your description I think I know what it was. If it had a tremolo; RG530. Hardtail; RG600. Both were 1986 Roadstar models. The finish is called Wine Pearl. The fret board is actually Ebony on the RG600. I have an RG600WP for sale if you're interested. See the classified section.

Cheers
Steve

I just realized, I goofed! The RG600 was the only one with the Lo-Z active pickups. The RG530 had IBZ's.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. Sorry I just jumped in and didn't introduce myself, I was in a hurry. A poor reason, but at least a reason.

I sure miss that guitar. Steve, I'll be taking a look at yours, but I have to get my new Highway 1 Strat off layaway first (this month?).

After a couple e-mails, and good look at the RG600 photos, Dave has decided that is NOT the model he had.

Awright you guys, step up and figure this one out!

Cheers
Steve
