What's the consensus on this model? Looks to be well put together. I have experience playing guitars with more than six strings, so I'm somewhat intrigued by the 7s. Can anybody tell me what the typical 7-string tuning is? I'm guessing the guitar has an extra bass string and not a string above the high E? If this is the case, what is that low string tuned to? B below the low E?

Generally speaking, a 7-string has an added low B. Although lately it seems all the new bands are tuning the 7-stringers down to A or even G!
(G,C,F,Bb,Eb,g,c)

A friend of mine has an AX 7-string. Nothing wrong with it mechanically, but he's not real happy with the pickups. I think it sounds fine. He uses a this tuning: (A,D,A,D,G,B,E)

My personal preference for a 7-string is the RG7621 or RG7421. Both are hardtails.

Cheers
Steve
