G'day Steve, I'll have a bash and say a DT350AV, looks like a 1985 model, however my catalogues only show DT series with ProRocker trems on them.It may even be part of the Rocket Roll series, pickups would be Super 58 neck V2 bridge but thats as good as the Captain can get from the memory banks at this time of the night :)

1983 DT500CS. This is the only year of Destroyer II that I've seen with a bridge/tailpiece combo.
The 1982 (DT400CS) would look very similar but with a Quick-Change tailpiece and a Gibraltar bridge. In 1983, the Destroyer II was part of the Ibanez X-Series, and that should appear on the headstock.

Heres is what info I have on the set neck destroyers :

DT-300 / Year(s) 1980-83 (Although I have never seen a 1983 model / Flame Red / No bindings

DT-400 / Year(s) 1981-82 / Early 81 models had dot inlays & transparent stain on the back. Late 81-82 had split block inlays & a solid painted back. / Flamed Maple Top / early 81 had bound body only, late 81-82 had bound body & neck

DT-450 / 1984-85 (Some say they were produced through 1991) / Offset triangle inlays / Red-Black-Flamed Maple-White / Bound body & neck / Pro Rock'r tremolo was only option available

DT-500 / 1983 only / Flamed maple top / Solid block inlays / Bound body & neck / tail piece & bridge combined into single piece. X Series logo

DT-550 / I dont know if this was actually released, it was said to be the DT-500 with the Hard Rock'r tremolo. I have never seen one so if anyone has one let me know...

DT-555 (Phil Collen) / 1982-1985 / Black three pickup design / This model went through two different designs. The early models had the Hard Rock'r trem & knobs placed high in the body. In early 84 the Pro Rock'r locking trem was added and the knobs were relocated lower in the body.

If anyone has any info to add, please do...

Thanx guys! DT500, 1983 only, huh? Hmm... That figures. Why do I always want the uncommon stuff?

I would have no problem with a DT400 either. The DT500 has a ShortStop bridge like my RS1400.

Again, muchos gracias!

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve.

Actually if you watch ebay, the DT-500 shows up quite often. The DT-400 on ebay are usually beat to hell...

Thanx, Laaz. I'll keep my eyes peeled. The rub is gonna be havin' the cash available when one does pop up. There's still a couple Roadstars ahead of the Destroyer on my "want list"! :)

Cheers
Steve

Here's another X-Series Destroyer that I can't find in any catalogs:

XSeriesDestroyer

Here's the description I got from the owner in Sweden: an Ibanez X series destroyer, the neckplate says E854339 made in Japan.

Any ideas what it is?

The X Destroyer (E854339) - does anyone know what model this was?

It was sold as DT-480:
http://cgi.ebay.de/Ibanez-Destroyer-Explorer-Dt-480-Dt-155-Dt-555-X-Serie_W0QQit emZ320012902102QQihZ011QQcategoryZ46649QqcmdZViewItem

DT-480 isn't a model name used anywhere else as far as I can see.

Also found similar here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220005592640

But the 3 pickup models I find is the 155 and the 555, but this one seems to be somewhere between those - dot inlays, bolt-on neck, but with locking pro rock'r.

I am wondering if this is original or or if it is modified somehow. Or if it is some odd DT-555.
