Anybody see these? Some interesting guitars keep popping up on ebay (no affiliation with these guits or sellers)! So, here's my picks for the cool and unusual this week:

12 String J200, not a lot of these around!

CN-250, with a vine too bad it's a bolton

Another CN-250

Minty studio, anyone like these?

OUCH ! What do you mean "too bad its a bolt on" !
Don't tell me we have a set neck snob on the board ! You should play some of these bolt necks before passing judgement-I think you'll be suprised-especially with the concert, performer and LP clones of the 70's. Killer PUPS, awesome sustain and affordable to the average Joe. Take it from me, I'm a former Gib*** set neck addict and convert to Ibanez.

Yeah, bolt-ons suck! Just ask any of the bazillion Strat and Tele owners out there...

That's a nice CN250 guys even if it is a bolt on :)

Seriously I would love one of these. It's got to be the nicest CN and especially in the wine.

I wonder if that wine is the same shade as on the Wine Scruggs? Hmmm

Bolt-ons dont "suck", they're just not for me... but that leaves more of them for you guys. So what do you think of the guitars? I like the J-200 12 string myself.

I'm with you Ericsson. I don't think they're at all inferior to set necks, I just prefer a set-neck guitar. And I am a strat owner, and lover.

Even if it is a bolt-on, that CN-250 is REAL nice.

Thanks for the links!

I like set necks more as well.
Nice subject for debate.

In all fairness there are some very good bolt-ons as well.

But the Fender should have considered a setneck 24 fret strat also.

For your info, I think Cimar actually did the CN model with set neck.
I have 3 Ibanez CN's and I think they are great players, even if I also still long for CN 250. They are still affordable too right, even if the 250 went a bit higher the 100 and 200 models typically go for around $300-400.

There was a Richie Blackmore signature set-neck. The Custom Shop has also done some set-necks in the past. Both Strats and Tele's. Check out the new Showmaster Stratocaster. It's a production set-neck Strat!

Steve you are right! I checked out the Fender site - some nice new guitars. I didn't know they bought Charvel Jackson.

Have you played any of these or the FMTs? I'm curious.

I had an old bolt on Charvel that was an awesome guitar that had a great neck and sounded great. It was an '83 Model 3 - similar to a Strat but a bit higher in quality (not considering the Custom shops models of the time)

I guess I was stuck in the past regarding Fender.

Thanks, I'm glad you brought me up to present time!

I test drove a Showmaster recently. Nice guitar, but outta my price range. I think the new Ibanez SZ models come very close for a lot less money.

Considering how Jackson and Charvel have floundered since their heyday in the late '80's, perhaps Fender's buyout is a good thing.

BTW, for anybody who misunderstood, the "Yeah, bolt-ons suck!" post was intended as a joke! It's called sarcasm folks... :)

Cheers
Steve
