It was just a thought, but since I was considering the real tone that my amp can produce (Marshall JCM 900 SLX and a Legacy 2X12 cab.) I got to thinking about frequency. I just wondered if anyone out there had tried running a nice mono graphic eq (maybe an ART 30 band) through the effects loop? How about in line with the speaker cab? Anybody who has tried this, give me a yell....

I've used an old Tecnics hi fi stereo equaliser for some time with the 2 channels in series.
Thus I can get upto 24db boost anywhere you want and it was easy to make it foot switchable.
I dont think you need anything fancy for experimenting - you can pick up the old hifi parts dirt cheap.
It s actually a great way to over drive the amp.
