Hello,

I am looking to buy a stereo chorus pedal. I find a large number for sale on ebay. Some are listed as analog and others as digital.

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two, analog vs digital?

Is one better than the other, or is this a matter of personal preference?

There are a number of Ibanez models on ebay, is any one model the preferred choice? If anyone has several Ibanez stereo chorus pedals which one do you prefer and why?

How do the Ibanez pedals rate when compared to other manufacturer pedals?

Which make and model sc pedals are your favorites and why?

Arney,

Some people like analog pedal because they say they are warmer and more natural. And some like digital because they may be quieter, cleaner and more versatile in the case of a rack mount processor. From what I've read, the Ibanez chorus pedals are some of the most highly praised. I would like to experament with some of these analog pedals. I've used mostly digital rack processors for chorus, and I have not found any winners yet. I'm using a TC Electronic G Major, which has a chorus based on their very popular chorus box. I think is sounds fake and edgy.

I'm always a big fan of experamentation. But first you should decide: do you prefer the simplicity or versatility? Some chorus pedals have only 2 knobs, some units have 10 different parameters. Do you like a warm lush vintage chorus, or a clear hi-fi sound? Are there any artists who have a chorus sound you like? Maybe you can find out what they're using.
