Anyone tried an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah? Initially, the name scared me off. But as usual for Ibanez, it looks like very well designed innovative product, that is loaded with features that the competitors lack. I like that it has a bypass switch next to the pedal, and several adjustments for range, Q etc. I was thinking of getting one. I don't care for my Dunlop 535Q.
a. Mode Lever
Changes the mode so the effect can be turned on and off with the FOOTSWITCH (f) or with the AUTO SWITCH (effect turns off when pedal is in the upright position).
a1. AUTO SWITCH Mode
a2. FOOTSWITCH Mode
b. Auto-Off Delay
In the AUTO SWITCH mode, you can set the effect-off either on standard instant-off when the pedal is returned to the full upright position or a delayed-off by turning the control clockwise.
c. Range
c1. RANGE SWITCH for switching between
LOW and HIGH frequency response.
c2. RANGE FINE TUNING allows fine tuning within
either the LOW and HIGH RANGE SWITCH settings.
d. Spring Tension
Adjusts the tension of the footboard return-spring in the AUTO SWITCH mode.
e. Pedal Friction
Turn clockwise for more footboard resistance; counter clockwise for a looser feel.
f. Footswitch
Allows on-off switching of the effect independent of the footboard when the MODE LEVER is in the FOOTSWITCH Mode. |

i have one that i bought through zzounds.com for $99 shipped. i like the versatility of it, its a tossup with the morley bad horsie, which i like for the auto on feature that the screamin demon also has. the morley is straight up with no variability. in my mind, these are the 2 top wahs on the market. the screamin demon has not taken off for some reason, of course none of the toneloc series has either. maybe too many effects on the market. |

The Weeping Demon kicks @$$! However, I've still had players take a CryBaby or Vox over the Demon. Why? Here's some examples of customer statements:
1) It's too complicated.
2) I dunno, I never heard of it before.
3) It looks weird.
Morons! For the same money as a Vox or Original CryBaby, you get so much more Wah. I'll be getting one myself as soon as I get my new Toronado out of layaway.

Just got it! Like it!
A definite improvement over the Dunlop 535Q multi-wah. More natural wah sound, great ease of use and adjustability. Gotta go play... |
