Can a UE-400 Multi effects unit be operated without the foot pedal?

No this unit and the UE-405 need the foot contoller to operate! you can sometimes find these for not to much on ebay (whole units). i did see that some guy had made one or adapted another footswitch from another type to work with it but he had mad engineering skills

I have one of each in a small dual rack case the units are great!
