I`ve been (ab-)using Ibanez-effects since early eighties and still do. And I wondered if anyone can tell me why some 808series pedals have a copyright "R" next to the logo and some do not.E.g. on AD80 there also seem to be a different number next to the serialnr-those with "R" have MM C50202 on the backplate -those without have Mm C50202a ma or something.

AnalogMan has som history about the Tube Screamer on his web site http://www.analogman.com/tshist.htm
This would probably answer some of your questions, even if it's mostly about the Tube Screamer
