Is the TS-808 reissue made in Japan? If it is made in Japan, is it cheaper to purchase it in Japan and bring it here or is it chepaer to buy it in the US? What is the cost in Japan in US dollars? I have a friend that will be visiting Japan soon and I might ask her to pick one up for me if it is cheaper. Thanks

Hi Roadartstar - Would you know if the RI are still made in Japan today? Also, I am not quite clear but you state that "they were the same price" as what, if they were not available here at the time of purchase? Is "here" the US?

I've seen a few for sale in Japan. They are going for about $120 new. There's an old one for about $750.

Too bad they won't ship outside Japan.
