Just saw this on eBay.

Ebay Item #260124846806

Are the descriptions of the GB10 and 100 accurate? Just curious.

Somehow I just knew that GB12 would be on Ebay soon.

Well, I am no expert on Ibanez guitars nor am I an expert on GB's but...

As far as I know, the GB12 is a 1/2" deeper than the GB10 in body depth and shares the same 14.5" lower bout width.

Regarding the the differences between the GB12 and the GB100, that is the first time I have read that the GB100 used inferior materials. It was my understanding that the GB100 was basically identical to the GB12 sans GB12 inlay in the peghead. Not sure about the signature on the label...not sure that much matters (at least to me).

I did own a GB100 a few years ago. It was a very nicely built guitar - didn't seem inferior to any of the other MIJ GB's to me. I believe Ibanez continued to build the GB100 for the Japanese market until recently. I noticed it no longer appeared on their Japan website this year.

To me, guitars always seem to appear in pairs!?! I haven’t seen a GB12 for sale for a very long time now and I have been looking everywhere. This morning I acquired an extremely well kept GB12. Have just brought it home and unfortunately it’s going to be a couple of weeks until I have the time to take it apart and adjust it to my own preference. It has serial no 77 and is clearly hand signed by George. I will compare it to my GB100, it’s going to be a though competition though, the GB100 is one of the best GB’s I have played. The GB12 has a much darker, brownish, finish but the tiger stripes are the same. Pictures will follow….

I also bought a GB15 about a month ago, so now I’m looking for a GB5 and a GB30.

I am very curious about how many 12’s were made in total and over what period. I know they appeared in the catalogues btw 90 and 92 but were there ever any manufactured in 91 and 92? Info would be appreciated!

Bjorn,

Congratulations. Wow, a GB12 and a GB100. That's fantastic.

Looking forward to reading your comments.

congrats callistabb, another score! personally i prefer the brown sunburst of the GB12 against the cherry sunburst of the GB100. regarding material differences i think it's just an arguable affirmation of the seller to get a little more $.
i'm looking to hear an opinion from you regarding the GB15 and how it compares to the GB10 (and 100 because of the depth). i'm suffering of severe GAS to get that guitar.
