A beautiful jazzbox, one of my favourites since I saw a winered one in the 90's in Joep Egmond's shop. Then it was 1350 guilders, which would be about 613.50 euros today.

I really love the flames under that Icetea burst. The auction will end in a few minutes.
I think the owner made a mistake setting such a high starting bid. He should have started lower and set a good reserve as a protection.

But man, this sure is a looker!

I guess he will relist it...

This SECOND one has TWO humbuckers, the FIRST one had ONE!
I'd have to look up, what this means for the MODEL NUMBER.

I almost had this one. Outbid by 10 bucks at the last minute. What a deal that turned out to be. I hope someone here got it. Aloha, Evan

Mauiboy:

I saw this one at the NJ Guitar Show this weekend:

HowardRoberts

I didn't look at it too closely, but $1200.00 sounds pretty good...compared to $1550.00.

The one I missed sold for $820.00. It had the 2nd pickup which I guess a purist might not like. It looked like a possible factory install. I thought of it as a positive alteration.
eBay: Beautiful 1974-77 IBANEZ HOWARD ROBERTS GUITAR RARE NR (item 280131651651 end time Jul-15-07 18:30:00 PDT)
See Chuckee99 July 5th post for the direct link. I can't seem to get the link to post here. Aloha, Evan

Actually, I did read that Howard Roberts had Gibson add that second pickup. Here is a link to the picture of that guitar:

From the article:

This (front, back) is the guitar that Howard Roberts is pictured with on the album cover for the Real Howard Roberts recording. It is owned by jazz guitarist Jeff Sherman of Bellarmine College in Louisville , Kentucky. H.R. had Gibson install a second pickup and subsequently had a sound post installed.

A link to that article is:

So, knowing that Ibanez had a keen eye for copies, I bet this was a true factory build. If i had just not bought my other favorite guitar (1988 G&L ASAT), i would have added this one to my Ibanez collection!
