It has an ugly damage on the heel.
And a former owner has removed the original Sure Grip potmeterknobs.

I think this is way to much for this guitar in this condition.
But if the buyer is small and he wants a smaller original Ibanez thinline with Super 58 pickups, this was an opportunity. But it needs some work!
And finish repairs are not cheap.

My cherry red 1981 AS50 just keeps going up in value, based on this.

I love it...

This was a matter of heavy competition between bidder 4 and bidder 2. I noticed that they both won between 0 and 9 auctions and bidder 4 has been bidding on 1 item only. This could be a shill bidder (the owner or a friend).
Why didn't he step in sooner? Then he could have had it for $452.50 perhaps... but no, he waited and took the guitar over the 550 threshold in one blow.
Without this competition bidder 2 would have had it for $600.- which would have been reasonable in this condition.

I think it's a prototype or custom built version of the GB20(NT), this finish was NOT in the catalogue, thus not used in serial production.

I like these blondes, because you see exactly what you get. Nothing hidden under the dark paint. Every piece of wood just has to be first class. I bet that his top was hand carved.
