Hi there,

I own a AM200, the one with the thin headstock, all burl mahogany. The serial number is H803661. made in 1980, according to these numbers. But the series started in 1986!? Help me!

ArtStar AM200 - made in 1988. The changed the serial number/dating. Somewhere, there's a thread regarding this.

Hans, welcome.
Michael is right. In this case "H" means "This guitar was made for HOSHINO, by Terada factory).
A possible reason they didn't use the "T" could be that Tokai was possibly already using it for acoustic Ibanez production in the early '80s.
But we're still working on that hypothesis.
