So the guitar is genuine, but the info is false. The one pictured in the Craigslist ad is a MIJ GB10NT. Check out the engraved George Benson in the trussrod cover; bound pickguard as dead giveaways that it is the real deal. I think the seller just typed the wrong serial number and goofed up his ad's credibility. Nobody would sell such a guitar for $1300.- So it is possible that Guitartim's last remark hits the nail right on the head. But when we read carefully, he writes: This is not the CHEAP Korean version. So perhaps, it's the EXPENSIVE Korean version The quality of the jazz guitars on the Peerless website is far beyond that of Samick and Cort jazzboxes. I see a quartered spruce top, ebony tailpieces and pickguards... really outstanding! Perhaps we should ask JD what happened with the GB10 production in 1999. (Ed). What a nice guy! He told me that he has too many guitars and does not play the GB10. He bought it off of Ebay some time ago since it sits in the case too much. He told me that the serial number could be his error and was apologetic. Already got a call from someone challenging the ad. Ed said he would take better photos and clarify the serial number for potential buyers. It is definitely a MIJ GB10NT according to Ed. Long story short, I wanted to buy that guitar myself for that price!!! I recommended he make the sale at a guitar store where the buyer could check it out. He agreed that would be better for both parties. NO, I did not make an offer. I didn't want to play that game since I'm not in the market for another GB10. I could go check the guitar out for anyone here who wants to arrange with Ed to buy it. I'm not an expert, by any means, but could tell, for example, if there were huge cracks in it or if the frets buzzed. Why would I do that? Well, because I love the ICW and I'll leap at any opportunity that gets me out of the house and away from cutting the grass. ;-) Oh, and I'm not Ed nor do I know him. And who knows, maybe he has other cool guitars he wants to sell. -Chuck
