Thanks because I'm comparing it to the Reverend Manta Ray tha has a solid maple top? Any help on this would be appreciated! Interesting guitar anyway. Would like to have one on my hands to compare. I have not seen as well made guitars in the same price range as Artcores are, so far. Juha   Chucke99 Username: Chucke99 Registered: 2-2007 Posted on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - 5:23 pm:    I sat down at the local Guitar Center the other day and played a few of the Artcores, which I think were mostly AF models (they were different prices) and an AS-73. I like the way they feel, even with the obviously factory setup. I pulled down a couple Epiphones that were nearby and played them and the Ibanez guitars were clearly superior (and less expensive). I just wish the store had more variety for me to sample.   Talajuha Username: Talajuha Registered: 11-2006 Posted on Thursday, August 30, 2007 - 10:14 am:    Manta Ray HB's (metallic gold) solid maple top and "The back, sides and center block ... produced from one slab of mahogany, which is routed from the top" make it different from ES-335 and copies. Painted top, sides and bottom cause the question about the wood quality. Has something been hidden? Can't tell for sure without closer look. Juha
