Ebay Item #160156122780

Seller has offerred to me for $200 shipping included. Is this a good deal? I'm looking for a starter jazz box. Could the $200 be better spent elsewhere?

Thanks, Mike

I guess $200 shipping included is a good deal of any Ibanez jazz guitar in decent condition. If the pics tell it all this seems to be.
I almost envy you

That AF80 looks like a nice "starter jazz box" to me. Assuming all is as the seller says, I would think $200 would be a very fair price. At that price, you could still spend some $ on new pickups if you decided you wanted a better sound down the road.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Watch out! This guitar has NON-wax-potted SUPER 50's. You will have tons of feedback with this hollow body.

Wildfield and Jazzzbo, you both have a point. If necessary there is enough financial room for new pickups, or you turn the volume down.

Thanks to all for your advice and suggestions! I'm waiting to hear back from the seller.... I hope he's not had second thoughts!

Ginger, Wildfield, and Jazzbo: What pups do you recommend if I want to move up? Thanks again!!

Mike, get yourself a Seymore Duncan SPH90-1 Phat Cat. I love that pickup...

They make it in chrome to replace the existing one.

Ibanez SUPER 70s sound very good on my Ibanez thin line hollowbody 2454, i believe they were also on my 2355 big jazz box, maybe you can score a deal on some that are not in mint collectable cosmetic condition, jazzzz

I'm a big fan of SD 59's. I have a pair of Super 58's (Japan) that I may be willing to part with if someone on this board is interested.

Super 58's are a little darker than the SD 59's in my opinion.
