Hi All,

Yesterday I had an AS-120 (and a SR406) stolen. This is very upsetting. I particularly liked both beasts and bought them after comparing many guitars/basses. For insurance (replacement value) purposes, I need to provide the insurance company with reasonably equivalent models currently in production. I don’t know what these would be. I don’t find the Artcores quite in the same league, but I haven’t had an opportunity to try too many. Would you knowledgeable folk have an opinion on this?

Thanks,

Rick

If you want a equivalent Ibanez guitar for the AS120, you should go for no less than the AS103NT.
For that money you may choose whether you buy the AS103NT new, or a good second hand AS120 and keep a few hundred in your pocket, if you're lucky.

The AS120 was $899.99 in 1997
The SR406 was $799.99 in 1997

The value of these guitars is about 50%-66.7% of the list price.
Add about $180.- for the two second hand cases.
So about $1200.- market value together.
But perhaps your policy says you can buy new ones.
So you might pick an AS103NT + a SR506 (SR406 is off the list now) and two brand new cases.
That makes:
EUR 809 for the AS103NT (case included)
EUR 799 for the SR506
EUR 115 for the MB100C case for the bass.

All based on 2007 Dutch pricelist
