Hi folks. Yesterday on Ebay there was this auction for a gb10 made in 1987.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item= 110198541743&ssPageName=ADME:X:SCO:DE:1123
It went for 1210 Euros = 1.784,42 USD.
Is this a reasonable price? Or is it too high?

... it is not in mint condition, it has fretware and some scratches, too, the seller told me that.

???
It is still there with BIN (Sofort Kaufen) 1,200.51 EUR, "1 Stunde 7 Minuten" left.

Price is reasonable if you are ready to take the risks that follow an old guitar, which you can't test. New GB10 costs around 2100 EUR at web stores - 1200 is 60 percent of it.

hi folks,

to make a long story short. I was interested too, and so the vendor mailed me some detailed pictures about this box. The only severe damage is a large scratch on the neck. That“s the only big issue I can see. No detailed infos about the fretware

So hurry up if you are interested. I stand back, cause I searching for a more minty one

ok. the pics are nice. I asked for the pics, too but he wont sent any pics to me... :-( ... btw, it came without the case (which on the pic is a strage one, not fitting). I think 1200 Euro without case and played down frets is Ok but not really a bargain....

@Stony2004

The seller sent me also some pictures like this:

My estimate - the first fret is really down.

Generally, nobody you can trust, otherwise it could have been layed on the line from the start (including pictures). NOT a good habit, sorry.

Mike,

thanks for the pics. Hmmm, I cant really see the condition of the frets on this picture.... but anyway, how much would it be to have the box refretted? Perhaps that would be an option, if the auction ends about 1000 Euro or so...

Refretting costs 150 to 200 EUR. If I remember it right, asked three months ago here in Finland. Depends on what you want to include in the bundle.

Ebay Item #110199191743

here we are again. This time without BIN.

Quote:"Good original condition, Only small fretwear,No breaks, no dents, Delivery with pictured case."

Funnily not a word about the heavy neck scratch issue. Unsharp fret pictures, unsharp condition descriptions - but double copy of the disclaimer

I'll stay with my judgement.

Anyway, Curious about how much it will bring, this time ;-)))

Yippie! This time, I couldnt resist! I bought it!!!
It arrived super quick today! It was a bit risky but I wanted to go for it! And I was lucky! No scratch on the neck btw, this was only a reflection. Over all I would say that this box is in near mint condition! Fretware only slightly! And I cant really see any scratches, dings or dongs. ItĀ“s perfect!! I have to restring it (it came with some 009 string gauge) and adjust the neck rod. ... IĀ“m really happy :-) btw, this one is a Terrada-made box. Serial: H7022xx. So I guess crafted in 1987. yeah!

So you got a EUR 20.- discount. That covers for some d'Addario Chromes, or perhaps a set of Thomastiks.
(Aaron was very enthusiastic about them).

Congrats!

The Thomastiks are great strings! I only use them by now! BTW, Ginger, what about that H7 serialnr. puzzle? Is it solved by now? There was a thread some time ago about it. What year is H702260? Is it definately 1987?
