I've lost this little metal tightener thingie for my tuner on my GB-10 and I don't know what to do. Ibanez doesn't seem to sell replecements and I don't want to mess up the thumbscrew using plyers. (The guitar has been in a closet for awhile and I was thinking of selling it but I like playing it again).

I'm having a hard time visualizing what the "thingy" is you are referring to. A GB10 with thumbscrews on the tuners would be fairly old. What's the "thingy", a set screw that would tighten the thumbscrew?

A closeup picture of the tuner would be very helpful. If you don't know how to upload pictures, you could send it to me in an email message and I'll post it.

Hi John,

The "thingy" is a small stamped metal hook-shaped lever with a little point at the end that fits into a little hole on the thumb wheel and adjusts the tension on these tuners. I'm at work right now but will post a picture of it when I got home to-night.

I have a '79 GB10 with thumb wheels and I don't see anything like you describe. There is a small hole in the thumb wheel, but it looks like just a hole. I actually thought there would be a small set screw in there, but no...nothing.

My 82 GB10 does not have tuners with thumb wheels but my MC200 does. Here are the pictures with the piece of paper that was in the plastic bag that the "thingy" came in.
