I'm in a small dilemma now regarding my Ibanez guitars actually... After playing the 2616 for a while, the neck of my 2355 seems really whimpy in comparison. The 2616 feels a lot more solid. However, the sound of the 2616 is more "muffled". It's not as clear sounding as my 2355. This may be caused by several reasons but I suspect that the main reason is the 2616's maple top as opposed to the 2355's spruce top. They both have a tunomatic bridge but the 2616's bridge is stamped L.P bridge which lends me to believe it's non original.
Both gutars should have the super70 pickups... However, the neck pickup on the 2616 seems to add to the muffled sound. It's powerful enough though... The bridge pup sounds a lot clearer actually....
Well, all in all the 2616 makes me sort of see flaws both ways... The neck is too whimpy on my 2355 and the sound is too muffled on the 2616... Still they both have qualities that I really like. What to do, what to do....?
