I had written a few months ago requesting information on a 1986 AM70. This site was EXTREMELY helpful. Recently I have noticed that there is cracking on both sides at the base of the neck, where it meets the body. The joint is no longer perfectly flush. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it dangerous for he guitar and need to be fixed immediately? Any suggestions or experience is appreciated.

Mike-you might want to check out the "crack in laquer on Ibanez guitar" discussion in the cool contemporary electric section. that could help with your problem although if the crack just appeared and continues to get worse there could be cause for concern.

Thanks Matt, for the lead on the articles. It doesn't seem to affect the playability or the sound, so I think I'll let it go for now, and have someone take a look at it when I get the neck adjusted in a month or two. Thanks again.
