I have searched high and low for a GB-200 tailpiece but have never found one. Well, a store once researched this for me and said that Ibanez USA hand one in stock (at the time). They wanted $200. Seemed awfully expensive.
At the time, I was searching for one to replace the tailpiece on my GB-100. I have renewed my search now, to find a replacement tailpiece for my AG195. ;)
Anyone have any suggestions on how I might come across a GB-200 Tailpiece?
Of course, if I can't find one, I can always have one made as I ended up doing for my GB-100. |

I will eventually swap out all the hardware for gold stuff - tuners, pickups, etc. just for fun. I like the look of ebony tailpieces.
I guess I should have asked, has anyone ever been successful getting replacement parts from Ibanez USA through a retailer?
I suspect there is little or no demand for aftermarket Ibanez parts such as the GB tailpiece, but thought I'd ask the question anyway.

Sure, I've ordered parts before. It's relatively straight forward. Guitar Center can get them, but they can only order the parts that are already in their system, which rules out anything unusual, like a GB200 codpiece. For unusual parts, or anything for that matter, I'd recommend an good independent dealer. I need to order a few unusual ones, and will be calling B Street and Gary Brawer. I'll let you know haw it goes.

You should be able to get an Ibanez dealer to order one.

Thanks for the information. I did find the part number on Ibanez' site before but thank you very much for your efforts - that was very kind of you.
I guess I can give B Street a call to see if they can get the part and to get a quote as well.

I tried to order the GB200 tail piece at Manny's.
I was told it cost$260.
.....
I gave up.

Hey Eastmongo.. I had the same problem and so waited and waited.. Then I ordered this..
part number. 2TP1H04G
and just used some Black oil dye (ala PRS fretboards) to make it look like ebony
I cant remember the price but it was a fraction of the cost of the GB200 Tailpiece.. |

Where did you order that tailpiece from? Wow, that's nice - might be a great tailpiece for my AG195. Also, do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it? Is it grounded?

Doh...sorry, I should read more carfully.  Please forget my question regarding price.
However, do you remember if you ordered from your local shop, or is it possible to order online?

Yes it is grounded.. I ordered through The Australian Ibanez Distributor.. You should try you local distributor as well. |

It's the exact replica of D'Aquisto Rosewood tail piece.
{D'aquisto favored the combination of rosewood tail piece and Ebony bridge.}
I got it from friend of mine who makes custom guitars.
It's just like Metheny's custom FG.
His tail piece is prabably ebony, though. |
