Hi,

I've bought an old ibanez and can't find any information on the web :
Body : gibson 175 like
Headstock : gibson shape
logo : Ibanez metal logo on headstock
Pickup : two metal cover pickup, like a mini-humbucker, but inside they are more like a P90(big single).
Sticker : inside the body there is a white/cream sticker with, n°1859 stamped on.
What else ? : Neck is mahogany, top plate is solid carved wood. Sound is excellent.

Could it be a pre 2355 model?

Thanks for any information.

Ibanez1859:

Looks like you figured out how to upload pictures.

Hmmm, looks like a 2355 to me. I wonder if Harry or Hasy would know more about this model number?

The toggle switch location is throwing me John. Its positioned as on a 2455 but the inlays are 2355 as is the tailpiece.

ARGGGGHHH !

And the pickups are not the traditionnal humbuckers you can see on a 2355 or 2455 !

Plus, this (on the auction) seems to have the regular size humbuckers, and I'm not in england but in france,
but you're right it look's almost the same, I'm going to contact this guy ...

Ibanez1859:

You wouldn't happen to have any larger, closeup photos of your guitar? Seeing the details of the metal logo, pickups and inlays would be helpful.

My thoughts exactly...

I'm after a 2355 natural at a reasonable price but can't seem to find one here in Europe, that's why I noticed this one (it has been more than once on auction, by the way).
I currently own a 2630 and a 2622 and I'm a huge fan of old ibanezes! This group has been a true discovery and I take the chance to thank you all.
Best,
Mario
