Hollowbody for $1,000??

I have been tooling around looking for one and I think for now, I am not interested in a ES175 copy. So, what would everyone recommend looking for? A couple of exceptions because of poor condition or no shipping (Ibanez). I got it for 500 euro. There's no problem with experimenting, everything you'll buy you can sell back and sometimes even with a profit, that's probably the good thing about it. A GB or PM are out of question, too small for you (?), an FG or FA are 175 "copies" and that leaves you the 2470\60 L-5, a Jazz Artist (might be 175ish too, it's a maple top but a nice one) or the 2455. I never saw one for less than 1000$. But these are L-4CES copies (just as big/small as the ES-175. What's said about it in "Ibanez, the untold story" (Ibanezfreak pictured page 176 in another thread) is an ERROR. IT IS NOT AN L-5CES model, but an L-4CES replica. I said 175 "copy" only size wise, because I thought that that's what matters to him. Because of the way it was referred to from the beginning of this thread. and I think the location of the pickup, alredy closer to the neck starts to make a difference. btw, about the 2455. It has a spruce top so you already get a different sound from it. When Sabeking wrote that he's not interested in a 175 copy, I thought he talks about the size and maple top. One of the significant differences between the FA and the FG is the size. The FA is much thicker. But I guess, that Stacey meant L-5 or Super 400 size when he wrote FULL SIZE. So I guess he would go for the 2460 (laminated spruce top) and 2470 (solid spruce top) if they only were affordable (and not $2800.-) My advice: try to find an Aria L-1000 or PE-180, or one of the other brands than Ibanez from the Fuji Gen Gakki factory or from the Terada factory.
