I think I read on here somewhere that at some point, the AS50 became smaller (similar to AM). Does anyone know what year? Are the early 90s AS50s as good as today's as73? Thanks.

Here's a real nice "small" 1980 AS50. Starting price is only $500.00 US.

This is about right, I think. Ibanez was doing well with the AS-100 & -200 when they decided in '80 or '81 to try a smaller version. This became the AS-50, with a lowlier sounding number because the cosmetics weren't as fancy. It lasted only 3 years, because in the interim, they decided to go even smaller and the AM series was born. The AS falls between an ES335 and an AM in size. Fabulous guitar. Got one with Gibson PAFs.

Well, no bidders. That surprises me. Anybody see something that scared them off from this AS50?
