Well, I have been looking around to buy a full sized hollow body and have received advice from numerous people.

I actually put in an offer on the FA510BS on ebay and won it. I didn't really want to pay this much money for a guitar, but I did and it's mine.

The listing below in mine...

Ebay Item #150106035955

What do you think?

Man, it's beautiful.
Now you're talking. That's a completely different beast! one can't belittle it's value.
One floating Super 70, sides are curly maple, arched spruce top.. no invasive electronics! I'd love to give this one a test drive.
I bet it sounds as good as it looks. Give us some detailed info about it once you get to play it.
I don't think there's any way to go wrong with this. I wish you best of luck with it..

I think you did good considering similar Japanese pressed arch top guitars go for a lot more these days. I've seen the D'Aquisto New Yorker go for about $2K. It doesn't have the vintage factor that you are getting. Most aged guitars sound better, especially Ibanez. I'd love to find a blonde one...

Sabeking,

Congratulations! I watched that guitar for quite a while and finally made the second bid...lower than yours though. I'm surprised they took it so fast. I expected to get another shot at it. Please give a report when you get it.

Thanks everyone. I am excited to get my hands on this thing. I have been asking a lot of questions and looking around at "full hollow body's" for a long time. I hope this satisfies my taste for that big sound I want.

Anyway, I will let everyone know how it is. Unfortunately, when I play music, I am typically playing drums. So, I take my guitars with me and listen to others play my gear.

Hey
you can give it to me and then I'll let you come and listen to me every time I play. Deal?

Aroee, I probably should...

No, honestly, I will get my hands on this thing. I just don't get the opportunity to play with others. I play the drums in those settings.

I will report back when I get it.

ok, I got the FA510 today. I have not had a chance to spend a lot of time with it, however, this thing is beautiful. The build quality is unbelievable!

Someone in my office picked it up and played it for a few minutes and was blown away by the playability of the guitar. He also said that it is a special guitar. I agree, this is a special guitar. Updates coming...

Ok, the FA510has been investigated, played, etc. One quick note on the sound, this thing is loud acoustically. Much more so than I expected.

Condition - I got lucky as this thing is in excellent condition. Those that have looked at it question if the thing has ever been played. It has, but not much.

Build quality - I own an AS50, AS100 and this guitar has a better build quality than the other two. Additionally, the label inside is signed. I will get a picture posted for everyone to help identify the signature.

Sound - EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR... The only amp that I have played it through is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. The sound through it was fantastic. Whether finger picking, strumming, etc. it performed well. Every note very detailed, yet round and warm. The resonance coming out of this thing is outstanding. I can't wait to plug it in to my Roland Jazz Chorus.

Picture coming soon...

Stacey
