I didn't know quite what category to post this. Hope it's not terribly OFF TOPIC but knowing many of you are big George Benson and Pat Metheny fans I figured I'd post it and see what the reaction was.

While out trolling on eBay late last night I came across a couple of great items for sale: one being a Pre-Order for a George Benson Live At Montreaux 1986. This is a pre-release sale and the actual release date is November 1, 2005. I have a number of recording from that era and you serious jazz buffs I will admit George does a lot of singing on this tour, I actually saw this tour and it was pretty good (Shoreline Ampitheatre, Mountain View, CA). Anyone interested in the setlist will see George does some instrumental numbers though.

Next on the list is a non-pro production (likely taped off cable tv in Europe) but being a big collector of Pat Metheny I am glad to see something from his new group out on DVD (even if it is via a private party). It is Pat Metheny Live At Montreal Jazz Festival 2005, the setlist is pretty nice on this too and Pat always aquits himself well at MJF gigs.

AND LASTLY though not Ibanez endorsees CREAM, yes the great band from the 60s, did a number of shows in May at London's Royal Albert Hall, I've have recordings of these gigs and they were in top form. Well RHINO has released a pro shot dvd of the gigs and it came out yesterday (10/04). I'm telling you these old guys still have it - it is an amazing show and well worth your time... I am attaching a direct link to the item at Rhino's site, also scroll down and play the clip of Cream performing White Room, I think it just might make your day (as Dirty Harry would say).
