I'm in the process of setting up my AS80 (I play rhythm rock mostly) and am wondering about strings. My guess is that I'll want 11s or 12s, but should I get flat wound, wound 3rd or standard? That's my biggest question. Thanks. This forum has been invaluable for me.

THe flats will give it a smooth jazz sound but eliminate the noise. Try half rounds if you can still get them. If not, I like 11's on mine and I get the best strings I can. I now have mine set up with George Benson flat wounds and love it. THey just don't bend as well for rock. I play flatpicking and Jazz on mine. Mike
