Bjorn~ The only good news is that this is a 'no reserve' auction. Someone could win this '78 for cheap and restore the guitar...or create a pretty good one with old wood.

I'd rather have that too big ugly pickguard and wrong potmeters than corroded pickups.
Of course I would replace them, but these pickup covers need replating. Much more complicated.

Knobs and pickguards are the easiest jobs.
Besides this one doesn't have a repaired chip on the headstock like the other one.

Yeah, they look like small repairs to me.
Too much gloss if you ask me.
He should have mixed ebony sawdust with Tite Bond to fix it.
