Considering the purchase of a '77 2454 (fully hollow, set neck, sweet ash top)and either setting it or my AM50 up for slide. Open E and D tunings w/12's. I'm a little worried about the tension especially in open E. Probably shouldn't be. We know the quality envolved but I'm more used to a tough old Fender bolt on for these applications. I'd like to leave one of my guitars permanently set up for slide and I'm not sure which. My '73 Tele is sturdy but I've always liked the tone of P-90's or buckers for bottle necking. This isn't serious &*%t by any means just kind of fun to throw around and get opinions. What do you guys prefer for slide? Are our hollow and semi hollows tough enough?

If the seller of this 2454 doesn't take my offer (God I hope he does, it's sooo sweet) I got my eye on a nice little '58 Supro w/ a single P-90.
