Hi everyone,
i am new to the Ibanez world and to electric guitars altogether. been thinking about getting one for the last few months and after trying every single guitar I've come across in Spanish and Italian music shops that fell within my budget limits, I'm left with two finalists and can't make up my mind but have to, cause they will soon be gone. On one side there's an AF85 VLS for 440,00 euros and on the other an AF105 for 590,00 including its hard shell case. Frankly i can't figure out if the Af105 is worth the extra money, they both sound and feel gorgeous to me (but again I am absolutely ignorant on pick ups, necks and what have you).
any advice is appreciated

Verardino:

What kind of music are you playing? What kind of situation will it be used in, clubs, home studio? Are you playing solo or with a group?

Aside from playing it, I think the AF105 is a nicer looking guitar.

at the beginning i will be probably playing what i've played so far with my spanish guitar, that is latin american singer and song writer music, beatles, chuck berry, lou reed and some jazz standards to sing along (i'm more of a singer than a guitarist). who knows if in the future i'll move on to jazz guitar...
don't think i'll be playing in clubs since in rome there's not much of a scene for the kind of stuff i play
cheers
i agree the af105 looks just wonderful and reminds me so much of the rooftop concert!

Veradino check out the AS103NT it more suits your needs and is the same price as the AF105NT with case.

Verardino,

The AF105 (or AS103) is a better made guitar than the 85 series. Most importantly, more effort is put into the neck and frets. It will be easier to play, no matter what your level, and it will be less likely to outgrow it.
