Hello.
I'm thinking about getting this model.
I just saw one at eBay ended yesterday for $756.

http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7390700561

I've seen couple other(they were AM205) at eBay that ended around $900 too. But then I've seen many postings on web where many people say that they only paid around $500.

How much should I expect to spend? I'm not very knowledged when it comes to vintage guitar prices.

Any advises will be much appreciated

I think $756 for an AM255 was a very good price, so would $900 for an AM205. It will be a very, very lucky person who bought an AM205 for $500 nowadays.

The post I read where people said they paid around $500 didn't mention when they purchased. I guess maybe they were back in the 80's.
Thanks alot Ace!

By the way, model names that ends with AV and the ones that don't ... are these two different models? For example AM205 and AM205AV

Please excuse my newbie questions
There are more comin' up...

AV = antique violin
CS = cherry sunburst
PW = polar white

Not all are that easy to figure out!

And to add some more information for you Tone, if the middle digit is a 5, the guitar has a factory-fitted tremolo, if the last digit is a 5 it's a Burl Mahogany top. To the best of my knowledge, all Burl Mahogany tops are AV finish. But not all AV finishes are Burl Mahogany tops.

Oh, and next time anyone spots an AM205AV for $500, it's MINE!
