Where are you? It can make a difference. For instance, in Europe prices are generally a lot higher than in the US. Unless the guitar is in mint condition, all original - including hardshell case - $1400 seems high. I think $1000-1200 would be more like it. Some have reported sub $1000.00 prices, but I think those are pretty rare deals.

To my memory, there hasn't been conclusive evidence that the SE version is anymore "special". I believe someone mentioned that their SE had a more ornate mahogany top than other AM205s. Yeah...and all parents think their child is cuter than than anyone else's. :-)

Don't believe every fretmaker that says "Custom Made" or "Special Edition". For most production guitars, they were marketing gimmicks. Similar to the way "New", "Improved", "Extra-Strength" and "All Natural" have become meaningless for other consumer products.

...and the Special Edition has less calorie per chord...

at the end of the day...it's up to you, though that's a fair price-range quoted by Johns. I saw one in a Japanese web store few months back going for about USD$970!

I love this site , you get answers so quickly!!

Actually I found the guitar in Tel aviv (Israel),
the prices here are higher than US but lower than europe generally
According to that you say the guy will have to lower the price ,if not I'll do something bad
I have to get it!!
I have an ibanez GB10 1982,he want's to trad it with the AM,I don't think so !
Anyway I didn't see the guitar yet , I have to check the condition first

thank you guys for your help !
