John, that is an AM50 from the Artstar Korea line from around 1990. It was never offered in the US - I've only seen them in Europe.

Hey, yeah, that's the guitar I bought on an irrational, fever-ridden, late night impulse buy! (For the whole sordid story, see the thread above, titled "Korean AM50 info?"

It does look a little dirty, huh? Probably gonna have to polish it up some. It's my first non-solid body axe. Now I have to learn to play it.

But dirty or not, on the other hand, I got it for $260, instead of the $429 starting price they were asking for at first. But then the postage was another $100, 'cuz I got cold feet and went for the air mail plus insurance.

But I'm pretty sure it has Super 58's, and I know it has a set neck, so I figure it's a step down from the Japanese models, but maybe pretty close in quality?

Assuming/hoping that there are no cracks, etc. I hope I got a good deal. If I get really into it and want to upgrade, I can probably get most of my $$ back....
