hi stbatz,
i sold my FG100 a couple of years ago. i miss that guitar too... in my opinion it stands very well against the PM100. by pure chance or coincidence, two weeks ago i jammed with a friend who has an FG100, so i had the opportunity to play and hear them side by side.
i was not aware of any difference regarding the deep basses as you say. maybe because the PM100, although having a mahogany neck, has an ebony fretboard, which theoretically delivers a more crisp sound.
i noticed a substantial difference in weight, the FG being much more light. i don't know if that could in any way have an influence in the guitars' tones.
