Is the JSM100 (Scofield model) still made in Japan? I've heard that most of Ibanez's production has moved to China and Korea, but does this apply to the highend signature models (GB, PM, JSM) as well? Are the latter still made in the Fujijen factory?

Thanks.

How old is that PM? I'm Certain that the Scofield is Fuji Gen made in Japan still.

Ibanez has experimented with making lesser grade signature models in Korea. Besides the PM20, there was the GB10JS, also.

Was the Paul Gilbert PGM made in Korea?

According to the owner, this PM20 is a 2000 or 2001 model.

Ardis~I checked the headstock on my 2001 JSM and it says 'Japan' on it. Unless production was shifted since then, which I doubt, they are still made there.

If Ibanez does not respond to your inquiries, you might check some of the retailers who carry that model (Music 123, Freds Music, etc.)

Let us know what you find out.

I just bought a JSM this year, actually several weeks ago and ordered it new right from a dealer and they had it shipped from bensalem. unless they are lying which i doubt, it definetely states that it is made in Japan, a 2006 serial no. MADE BY TEAM J. CRAFT JAPAN, underneath that the word Ibanez,,,, I think they are actually going to great lengths to let you know the guitar is made in japan
